Almost everyone guesses (correctly) that my name refers to where I was born and raised. About half of them wrongly figure I’m from Astoria, Oregon. I’m actually from Archie Bunker’s neighborhood, Astoria (Queens), New York. ---

People think I’m a chef. I’m just a good cook who has a terrible time thinking up usernames for all these websites. After I register, a much better name always occurs to me. I should have picked One Foot In The Gravy. Sigh. ---

In this thread garygnu lets it slip that his name is Gary. As god as my witness I always pronounced (in my mind) his username as ‘gar ignoo’. I wouldn’t assume your real name was PaulParkhead because who would be so stupid as to use their real full name? I would assume your name is Paul, though. That’s not exactly giving a lot away. I know so many Pauls they all have nicknames. ---

One part Paul Gascoigne (for some reason that’s who the character reminds me of), one part the artist Steve Parkhouse. It is a weird twisted combination of inaccuracy and dim memory. ---

Adhemar was a Bishop who went on one of the Crusades. I needed a name for a Paladin character to play in a tournament computer game. I liked it and wanted a name here that my acquaitences here wouldn’t recognise immediately. They no longer read and I am still here.
