OMG! No one else has started this? Am I the first? This is truely an honor. I think this is the first time I have been first at anything. šŸ˜ƒ What have yā€™all been first at? Had a great weekend. Saw Alton Brown last night. It was a fantastic show. He did some really cool things and was so funny! I havenā€™t laughed that hard in a long time. The couch repair dude actually came during the time slot that they said they would on Friday. He repaired the couch and left. All in all, after the debaucle of getting them to come out it went well. Slow day at irk as all of the gubermint folks are out. ---

Second! But only because I was waiting for **gt** to start this weekā€™s one. Iā€™m not known for being first at anything, unless itā€™s first out of the office at home timeā€¦not so great now since Iā€™m the only one _in_ my office! All I have to say is Blurf. ---

Blurf to you all! I donā€™t have to work today either, at least not at my paying job. But I do have a ton of housework, which Iā€™m putting off by reading and posting on the Dope. Some restaurants are letting veterans eat free today, but Iā€™m not going to try and take them up on that, since I donā€™t have any physical proof, other than photos, that I was in the Army. My discharge papers are in my safe deposit box today, and because of the holidayā€¦ Nobody ever seems to think a middle aged woman is a veteran anyway. ---

You can eat free at my place whenever you want. We can commiserate on how the old people on our lists are remaining alive. (Billy Graham was mocking me last week with his Big Woo-Ha 95th Birthday Party down the street from me.) I did manage to venture out for a short walk yesterday, but that was about it. I canā€™t do too much right now due to Great Discomfort. Hopefully that will pass soon. Someone cancelled on the Meetup I signed up for this Thursday so Iā€™ll be able to go! Iā€™m taking my cross-stitch since Iā€™m taking a break from crochet. Also, Iā€™m really getting into the picture Iā€™m making for Irish Storyteller. Iā€™ll take a picture of it in progress and put it on LJ sometime this week. Off to laundry and library! Once I finish this coffee. A girlā€™s got to have _priorities_, you know. ---

I canā€™t think of anything Iā€™m first for. Iā€™m last for a lot of things, but Iā€™m usually okay with that. This weekend I dyed my hair an unnatural color, spent a hundred dollars on lipstick, and figured out that I probably _donā€™t_ have dry socket, but instead just a big hole in my mouth that effing hurts. The good news is that it has definitely started hurting _less_, so Iā€™m calling that a win. šŸ™‚ ---

I ainā€™t workinā€™ today either. I would be happier about that if I was working more on other days, but itā€™s going to be a tight few weeks for cashā€¦ It should pick up soon though, especially as several of my co-workers have actually told me theyā€™re quitting soon. I think Iā€™m busy demonstrating that antibiotics will not help with a cold at the moment- halfway through a pack for a skin infection, and I think Iā€™m just coming down with a cold from my housemate, whoā€™s off sick today. Oh well, it does seem to be clearing up the eczema! ---

Iā€™m makinā€™ death chikin for dindin tonight. This has nuttinā€™ to do with anything which is why I am postinā€™ it here. That and I have a pack of chikin laigs and a pack of chikin thighs. I prefer dark meat for death chikin. Oh and death chikin is good so thatā€™s another reason to make it I suppose. I still havenā€™t ironed. I might though. Maybe. Might have a nap first though. Itā€™s a willy-nilly day! ---

It is modeled after a _Bloom County_ panel showing Opus with one eye wide open and the other scrunched shut, with cartoon pops going off around his head while he mumbles ā€œBlurfā€ after waking up from a very deep sleep. Iā€™ve been on a 3 year quest through my _BlCo_ library to find it as a reference, and havenā€™t so far. At least Iā€™m having a damned good time searching. What is death chicken? Do you have a receipe and does it include an iron? If we donā€™t have a real iron can we substitute a waffle iron? Curious mimes want to know. Oh, I smoked a turkey this weekend for T-giving practice. There shore was a lot of curious things stuffed inside. I felt like CSI doing a second autopsy. My conclusion, someone kilt this turkey! ---
