I think thats about it. Dont get me started on salts though.
I’m not home to check the cabinet but I have:
red wine
sherry
balsamic
cider
rice wine
blueberry
rasberry
home made tarragon (tarragon steeped in cider vinegar)
I’m not happy with my red wine vinegar. Anyone know a good brand of better quality red wine vinegar?
I don’t know what kind you have now, but I’ve always been happy with Maille brand red wine vinegar. For that matter, all of their vinegars, which include white wine vinegar, champagne vinegar, and now Normandy apple cider vinegar, are top-notch. Yes, it’s the same Maille people that make the Dijon mustard.
Which reminds me of my all-time favorite headline, from the Washington Post food section…“You can put pickles up yourself” (which may be apocryphal, but it’s funny as hell nonetheless).
But I digress.
I have used up the last of my ramp vinegar and would love to find some more. (Ramps are a kind of wild leek.)
