It’s a real struggle keeping it together on the phone and in public. At home, it’s cleaning and packing her things. Yesterday, when I got home from grocery shopping, out of habit, I called out that I was home. And promptly lost it. ---

As for keeping it together, know that the vast, vast majority of the people you meet will support and never judge if you tell them what’s going on. I’m pretty private, so I didn’t often share it, but there are times when you might need to say “I can’t handle this right now” no matter what the “this” is. In some cases, people will be so afraid of saying the wrong thing that they’ll treat you like you’re glass. That can be its own frustration, but if there are times when you need to be treated like glass, take advantage. ---
