Sorry the situation is so crappy, **HeyHomie** , but glad you both are getting the help you need. FWIW, many, many people hit a rough mental/emotional spot such as your wife has and been fine later, my brother among them. Sometimes it’s like a boil that just needs to be popped! After this, she will have more options with regard to dealing with emotions and stress. At least, that is the hope, so encourage whatever it takes to get her to deal with things, ok? Ditto the advice for yourself. My thoughts are with you both. ---

I think it’s understandable to completely lose it for a short time under those circumstances. 2 hours? Jeez. Please do look into bankruptcy. As noted above, it can preserve the essential possessions (including your residence) and map out a reasonable future for you. It seriously impairs your credit rating, sure, but it sounds like you’re already in that situation, so no harm done. ---

UPDATE: Mrs. Homie is out of the hospital and seems to be on the mend. Her mom loaned us [yet more] money to get us by. We are making follow-up appointments, looking at counselors, etc. She has lined up a job, but I’m going to be looking for a while. We are no longer vagabonds and are back in our own [crumbling wreck of a] home. Thanks for all the well wishes. A long road lies ahead, but every day is a new opportunity. ---

Glad to hear that she’s already lined up a job! That’s got to make her feel good (at least a little bit.) A job is a very tough thing to find these days. And she was unemployed for what, 1 week? before someone snapped her up. I hope she continues to improve, and that the job works out. Good luck to the both of you. ---
