# My Windows media player is buggy

It sometimes doesn’t give me the “progress” line for the video so I don’t know how long it is.

It doesn’t seem to have an option for choosing the time remaining instead of time elapsed. Maybe I just don’t know where to look.

Sometimes when I FF or Rewind it loses the picture and just plays sound with a dark screen.

Sometimes the video times out and won’t start again without going through the beginning again and FFing. (This may be the DVD makers fault)

I’ve never been a fan of WMP myself for these exact reasons.

Have you considered downloading an alternative? You can look at the recommendations[at this link which are well reviewed.](http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-windows-media-player-replacement.htm)

I use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema, but I would also recommend VLC player.
