He’s a semi-retired country singer, best known for such songs as “Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in the Bed”, who now writes mysteries starring himself and his real-life friends. Very strange, and very funny.
Excellent call! Anyone here who’s not yet read Wambaugh’s THE CHOIRBOYS should go out and find a copy right away…an episodic and absurdist look at a gang of stressed-out big city policemen and women, it’s the CATCH-22 of cop novels!!!

I read the book about 15 years ago, but the above lines came immediately to mind, with a deranged giggle at each. Not many novels of ANY genre you can say that about.
