Can you kindly point us to the definition of “known” that you are using in this sentence?

Or, failing that, I’d settle for a definition for “knon”

I want to remove you from the game because you are proposing such a frustratingly horrible idea that it would be viscerally satisfying to see you get killed for it. It’s not rational, and it has nothing to do with you being town or not. 😃

Lynching a mason is the single worst thing town can do.

Once again.

Lynching a mason is the single worst thing town can do.

Doubly true in the early game, triply true in a very large game (which this is.)

Would you not be willing to wait another Day or two to be sure you aren’t actually lynching a mason? Even if Gnarly is a wolf, there are certainly other wolves in the game to go after.

For emphasis:
Lynching a mason is the single worst thing town can do.

Some of us prefer to do it the same way. Sometimes, anyway. **NAF** ’s comment above about more and less popular strategies applies across the board.

Speaking of viable lynches:

**BlasterMaster** hasn’t struck me as especially scummy, but his early vote of **silver jan** strikes me as very strange. I’m not convinced that makes him scum, but I can understand the votes on him and am okay with his lynch.

Votes for both **silver jan** and **gnarlycharlie** seem to be of the “test their claims” variety by and large. I generally prefer to lynch for scumminess over getting information that doesn’t provide any solid answers. I can’t tell if **jan** is scummy or just confused. We’re all a bit confused, I know that. I’d prefer not to lynch either of them toDay.

**Scuba Ben** ’s Day One play pinged me a bit, but the feeling’s not really there on Day Two. He’s another whose lynch would be okay with me although I’m not convinced he’s scum.

**Blam** has quite the lead right now, so I don’t think my vote is necessary to lynch him over the two claimants I’d like to see lynched less than him, **gnarly** and **jan**. My vote is actually going to go elsewhere.

**unvote peeker**
**vote precambrianmollusc**

The feeling that **PM** ’s voting and behavior gives me is reminiscent of the feeling I got from **mahaloth** yesterDay that caused me to vote for her then. I was right then, and I think I’m right now.

I’ll be around until EOD, so I will be able to move my vote if necessary.

I’ve tried saying this before, but here it is again:

If you think **gnarly** is scum, then do you think **Texcat** is scum?

I would think YES, unless you believe **gnarly** could be a wolf and mason combo, so feel free to correct me if this is the case…I’m going to go on with the assumption you’d think **Texcat** would be scum if **gnarly** flips scum, though.

So then what does that say for **Weedy**? After all, he got the message saying **Texcat** is a mason and villager. So let’s say he made that message up. Wow, that would then be THREE scum all risking their game on one play. I know that “Scum wouldn’t do that” is a bad statement, but even I can’t see them being that risky.
Okay, let’s say **Weedy** DIDN’T make up the message. Then he must have gotten it from somewhere else (like the others seemed to have) and therefore, it could be true. I’m wager that it holds more weight being possibly true than possibly not, but that’s just my take on it.

So, to sum up, I don’t think voting for **gnarly** is a good idea here.

Sure. I probably phrased it badly (and by probably I mean I did).

BlaM wants to lynch Silver Jan. At the time of the post it was likely that Silver Jan was some sort of cop. She also had a lot of suspicion against her and so BlaM pushes for that lynch.

Then as it becomes more clear that she is probably not a cop he starts to swing to push for the mason lynch, saying “Hey, it’s not that bad to lynch a mason” Then he turns around and says “Whoah! We can’t lynch a mason!” as the tide begins to turn.

It all strikes me as opportunistic and pushing for bandwagons that he believes to be both viable (hence easy) and power roles. When heat starts to build and as town moves away from the idea of lynching a claimed mason (Astral’s view aside) he moves off onto something safer (going back to Scuba Ben).

Explain to me how voting for Silver Jan was an easy lynch, 'cuz I don’t get it. I’m on my phone at work, so there’s no chance of me looking this up, but wasn’t Blaster one of (if not THE) first to vote for Jan?

You and I severely disagree on the severity of lynching a mason. Especially when someone else has claimed he’s a wolf.

I don’t know, why do you expect to lose by waiting?

You are wrong. We can talk about it later, but you aren’t right. Confirmed townies are the most valuable asset town has, bar none. They also force scum to draw fire away from other power roles. They _ **can not** _ be lynched. If gnarly is a wolf then TexCat is a wolf and we will eventually find that out on our own. What we have now in severely inconclusive evidence that gnarly is a wolf and fairly conclusive evidence that he is a mason.

If Gnarly is a wolf and a mason and TexCat got a read that says he is a town mason then fuck this game, it was stacked too far against town for town to have a shot anyway. I am not going to alter my game play to account for Gad and MHaye deciding to fuck the town over.

I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I’m worried about today. I do not believe a wolf mason disguised as town out of the question. Presumably, he would appear town to his mason buddies but scum to a true investigator. If that’s the case, then all of the people were telling the truth. Well, except for gnarly. I’ll know more after he flips.

The alternative is doing nothing about the tangled web of claims, and I find the idea of not knowing abhorrent. My choices are lynching possible town, seer, mason, or mason+wolf. I’m choosing the latter.

i’m not sure if **Weedy** ’s message came from a full cop. full cop’s get alignment. scum cops get roles as well.

For the record, I was the third person on the wagon and hopped of briefly only because I did (and still do) think that Inner Stickler is a better candidate. But no one really agrees so I am moving on to choice two (well possibly choice three, I still have Ed on my list, but he hasn’t been posting much recently so it’s hard for me to say \*where \*he is on it).

It’s possible that **gnarlycharlie** is a Mason and a Wolf.

That having been said, even IF that is the case, his successful handshakes reveal other Masons to the group as a whole. I’d imagine there are more Masons out there. If **charlie** and **Tex** are both successful with handshakes toNight, we suddenly have at least 3 and possibly 4 confirmed Townies. That’s worth not lynching **charlie** , IMO.

I don’t usually like to give power roles direction like this, but if you targeted **Tex** last Night, you might want to target **charlie** toNight. Someone else will then hopefully get the full alignment and role result and can report it to the thread.

This is just speculation, not particularly likely. I agree that it’s best to sort out this situation in future days when we have more information, ideally an alignment reveal that we can trust. Speaking of which, if we don’t start getting reliable alignment reveals, this game is going to be hard for the village to win. I do trust that Gadarene knows what he’s doing, though, and has made this game as balanced as he could.

i understand that in POG seers are valued more than here but i think everyone will agree that town can make it even without them.
