ok i found it sort of

wolf messenger every night you send a random living role to your target

i think that that meant that it told you you were whatever role, but it was actually a lie, which isn’t what this is

The issue here is that this plan completely locks all of the cops down on the same 3 targets over and over again, for possibly no gain. Let’s say cop X gets three villager reads. Is he correct? Is he naive? Is someone else messing with his reads? Is he not even a cop at all, since someone else has been getting his reads? How can he tell?

All that, for just 3 wasted night actions.

A lynch is currently the only way to earn absolute information that benefits the entire town, and in a game like this we absolutely need hard information. I want to get to the bottom of these claims, and I don’t see any value in delaying.

You could deduce sanity with 2 results. If you get guilty and innocent, you’re sane or insane. If you get guilty, guilty, you’re likely paranoid. If you get innocent, innocent, you’re likely sane or naive.

Or, one more night just to test it out, where each suspect has TWO results, which is superior to one result on 6 suspects when we don’t know the sanity of the cops involved.

I disagree with your conclusion that we assume the guilty results mean they’re good lynches, and waste a lynch just to prove they were bad lynches.

I prefer going back to basics: Who is acting scummy?

Lynch one of these next round when we have 2 results on each candidate, which will almost completely and exhaustively solve the cop question.

You’re patient enough to wait one round, right?

I have school in the morning so not that much time on my hands left. Still trying to break down the new claims (episkey and NAF) and figure out how to move from there. I find it extremely unlikely that there’s two wolf messengers so there’s also a villager messenger who gives true role reveals. Episkey and NAF haven’t really pinged much for me except:

NAF has been hard headed and unwilling to accept a few of the roles that could be in this game and instead just claims the game would be broken if that was the case. IE claims there can’t be a wolf mason when IMO there is at least a coin flip’s worth of evidence to suggest other wise (there being a wolf mason in the previous iteration and one of our masons being peeked wolf via a message - the message can’t exactly be taken at face value but it never the less exists).

Episkey has posted more than I suspected but he’s seemed pretty middle of the pack, the only thing that really jumped out on the first read was him calling me out for a post I made about him saying that everyone should keep an eye on him because he’s a really good wolf. He had some degree of reason for his post (apparently something similar had already been posted) but him calling me out basically amounted to “I’m keeping my eye on you” which seemed to be him wanting to keep that suspicion door just a wee bit cracked for future use.

Without thinking through it too much I think potential cops should not be targeting the same players.

A) They literally can’t target the same person two nights in a row
B) The more people they target, regardless of what kind of cop they are, the more information becomes available to the village. Once the cop dies, when can then work through how valid each peek was depending on what type of cop he/she was.
C)Keep the wolves guessing. I don’t want our cops peeking the same tiny group of players night after night just to figure out their roles. Screw that.

Catching up seems to be like eternal chore these days.

We had five results Yesterday. And we’ve only seen 3 Today, but that makes sense because the town crier was killed last Night and the wolf crier was lynched yesterday. Both of those roles were alignment only.

None of the 3 results today had roles, only alignments, but Weedy had role and alignment on me. Something seems off with that. I don’t think Weedy would make something like that up, especially when she said I was not her target, but who knows? I would guess that whoever targeted me on N1 was blocked on N2, and another cop was blocked on N1 but not N2. Or the results went to the cop himself instead of being re-directed and the cop is not ready to reveal them yet?

If any cop wanted to test his sanity, he could target me or gnarly, but it seems sort of a waste of an investigation.

Also, with how many players are dying each day, the cops don’t have 2-3 nights to peek in a circle to figure out their role, they very well may be dead by then. Peek as many people as possible and out your peeks as soon as you feel like you’re in danger of being killed or lynched.

**Weedy** isn’t lying imo. What I think happened was that there is a true seer (which peeks both role and alignment) and that seer’s power was redirected to weedy. The village redirector probably doesn’t know what their power is, but if they do, their n1 target probably is the true seer. Obviously don’t out that information, but subtly defend that possible true seer if they become in danger.

**Tex** , why do you think you and gnarly weren’t killed last night? If we assume both of you are really village masons, you should be public enemy #1 and #2 for the wolves.

A) No one is suggesting they target the same person 2 nights in a row.
B) We could deduce their sanity without their death being involved with my plan, costing 1 night of activity and giving us likely reliable results on 3 people instead of unreliable results on more.
C) What guessing? Wolf kills townie, we don’t make a bad lynch and we deduce the cop’s sanity. Wolf doesn’t kill townie, we can likely clear them or prove them guilty by tomorrow.

And if the cops peek the same 3 players, what are they do once they figure out what they are? If they are even still alive by then, they may know their actual power but they can’t just out themselves as seers when they don’t have any new information to give us. Maybe they stay alive longer than that and can get a few new peeks in, but they’ve already wasted 3 days trying to figure out what kind of role they are. I’d rather then peek a bunch of players, drop those peeks when the time is right and then when they die, let the village figure out what peeks were true.

I have already wondered quite a bit about who is still alive today. Both masons and pizza seemed to be good targets for scum. Peeker was not shot, so I’m guessing he was the scum target? I’m not sure why he would be a threat to scum. Even if Giraffe is scum, peeker didn’t seem to be making much of a case.

On sangaman’s slip, I’m reserving judgment until he comes back to explain. I think the explanation may be more telling than the slip.

Pizza, are you thinking that we have exactly one sane, exactly one insane, etc cop? And do you think there might be wolf cops, sane or insane?

Release the results if they prove one of them is guilty.
Don’t release the results if it doesn’t prove anything or proves them innocent.
Investigate new people every night from then on with confidence.

Two. The results on the first night were different from N2 and N3. That is logically the same as if they deduced their sanity N1 and N2 and investigated the others on N3.

But it’s not even two that we’re talking about. You only wasted one night during the entire process because you have results on 6 people out of nine possible, AND you know your sanity, as opposed to 9 people and no idea what your sanity is.

Then they can out themselves and recommend a lynch when they have caught a scumbag, or out themselves when they’ve deduced they’re naive or paranoid, so we can discard their results.

Or, they can choose to stay quiet, giving us better results every night since the sanity is known, and maintain anonymity, giving them a better chance at life as well.

It’s a really weird post. 9 is oddly specific (that would be almost exactly 25% of the player pool). Someone was posting the quotes of a dead player earlier in the night, and in those quotes, the dead player also mentioned “6-9” wolves, then later mentioned the upper end of 9 wolves. Now sanga could have just sponged that # from the dead player, but the curious part is that the dead player was also a wolf.
