Posts like this is interfering with the thread.
I’m considering it angleshooting.

> First, **sanga** mentions that he was “embarrassed” so he didn’t post a response immediately upon seeing that he’d been called on it. As others have rightly pointed out, he could also have been waiting for the Scum to help him craft a response. I know if I were Town in that situation, I wouldn’t have waited–I’d want to try my damnedest to avoid a mislynch. I would have posted my explanation, no matter how shitty, and likely posted everything I know about my role and Night targets too, so just in case I was still mislynched, I would have given the Town all the info I had.
>
> Second, the explanation itself is not at all what I expected it to be. IIRC, during the time that post occurred, many people had been discussing the prior game that this one is based on. I didn’t read that game, but I thought I’d seen someone mention that there were 9 Scum in it. I was expecting him to say something about conflating the two games. Of course, if I’m mistaken about my underlying assumption about the previous game, that explanation goes out the window. This one is a WIFOM situation. Are we to expect that this is the best explanation that seven people could come up with, given time to craft it? Or have they just figured he’s a lost cause, and told him not to put up a fight so that they could get cred for bussing him? I expect at least a couple of the early voters for him to be Scum; even more so if he turns out to be Scum himself.
>
> **unvote Scathach

> In the end, the explanation is too weak, and the related aspects of what I would expect from a Townie defense are not present. I also lend some credence to the thoeory that he shouldn’t have referred to it as a slip in his own words, but I don’t find that quite as damning as others do–sometimes you just use the same word that other people are using.

This guy is a villager for this post.
I’ll go look at his other posts later.

So that leaves Silver as a scum or at least as a receiver of false information.

ok question: who is episkey?

never voting lilflower, in fact, if I was lying about my actions giving me a no result, I would tell you I seer peeked her Town. In other words, if I die and am revealed as a seer, remember my peek.

pwnsall seems to be doing good work, he is also probably a Townie, say 75%.

Hi duck!

I am certainly interested in askthepizzaguy’s role, very active, most likely Town, but obviously dont get some of his points. for instance, if the wolves kill him at night, they certainly arent going to come out the next day and say "HEY, I targetted him and now he is dead! " lol

Hey JD

I understand your interest for pizzaguy - cause I find that statement pretty weid.
not as weird as sangamans - but still pretty weird.
No I believe that he wants the town watcher to target him every night - hereby not gaining any other information.

It’s a bold move to do as scum - do you think he could do it?

I don’t see what ATPG would stand to gain from lying to us about this if he were a wolf, so he is probably telling the truth and probably a poisoner. That’s almost as good as a vig so we should try to protect him at night as long as no evidence surfaces that makes us believe he might be lying about his role.

>
> I agree with pwnsall, that doesn’t seem to make sense. Why would wolves keep bussing each other if it gets their partners lynched but doesn’t clear themselves? Anyway if that’s really the case then it’s good that us “otherboarders” know that so we can look at voting records keeping in mind that the native group busses more often.

Wolves probably wouldn’t ‘keep bussing each other’

But a Wolf might get on a bandwagon of a teammate early. And then either stay or fail to find a way off.

With the native group here, throwing an early vote on a Wolfbuddy is pretty common. One drawback is that if that buddy gets more heat, you can’t really get off the bandwagon without garnering some suspicion. So a wolf’s option is to remain on the wagon in an attempt to earn some Townie Cred.

Basically, an early vote for a Wolfbuddy is given because:

1. The Wolves will hope that the target doesn’t get lynched or killed early and the vote is just a one-off as we call it.
2. However, when the target is dead (and this usually happens), the voter can point to his solid voting record as proof of Villageness.
3. Also, in the event that the voter gets killed or lynched, the target can point and say “Look a wolf was voting for me!”

We call such actions distancing. It’s really not so rare.

I think bussing might be much more common around these parts than you are used to. While it does reduce the number of Wolves, one bus, or even two is going to help a teammate or two make it to EndGame, which is the goal of the Wolves, isn’t it?

I suppose it developed because alanses like these used to be common, and so Wolves found a good hiding place.

I think, especially in the case of Blaster Master, bussing was a valid option. I’ll detail my line of thinking:

1. Blaster was unaware of his power (most likely)
2. Blaster knew that someone had gotten a false peek at him.
3. Blaster also knew that eventually that person would flip and probably either be revealed as a paranoid (best case for Wolves) or insane (worst case for Wolves) Cop
4. Therefore, Blaster potentially had a limited life span anyway.

Therefore, I will not clear any of the voters for Blaster. Even the early ones.

Sorry if it seems I’m not participating. I am spending many hours reading the thread, but scum-hunting can wait a little as we have a few good candidates already. The consensus to Lynch Sangaman seems OK to me – I agree that the explanation was scummier than the slip itself.

I’ve as yet been unable to discern anything about my Power. I’d be happy to reveal my targets on the off-chance it would be useful information later on. I’d like to hear from others as to whether revealing would be a good or bad idea.

I guess it’s a cultural difference.

We have a phrase here “Scum wouldn’t do that.”

It’s a common defense used by a player. “Look at the things I’ve done, why would a Scum ever do that?”

And that’s exactly why a Scum would do that. To have a defense pater in the game, when it really matters.

Even if the Scum win, most of them are likely to die at some point. it’s best if they leave some Townie Cred for their teammates as they do.

Now, that’s not to say that Scum definitely did that, because it’s certainly more likely that a Town player would act that way, but it’s just not out of the question (or even out of the ordinary here) for a Scum to do that as well.

Now THAT is a very good point. For the reason PizzaGuy says in response to me raising the possibility of Scum targeting Scum on N1:

> [@Askthepizzaguy](#):
>
> Why wouldn’t I target someone else first just to make sure I don’t have negative powers? I understand I have yet to make a good impression here, but I REALLY hope people don’t think I’m that bleepin stupid.

You aren’t. I was noting the possibility, and I have backed off of it. On N0, only one power acted. So on N1, 36 people didn’t know anything about their powers. It would be very risky to the point of stupid for a Wolf to target a fellow Wolf, when there was the potential to block/kill/do something else nasty to a teammate. It’s _possible_, just risky.

> [@sangaman](#):
>
> Scuba Ben may be a protector, since his target on n1 felt safe. Ed, did you get a message about feeling safe on n2?
>
> Scuba Ben, did you get a message about feeling healthy or anything after Ed targeted you on n1?

To take these in reverse order. I got no message about feeling healthy or anything. I got an instruction from Gad saying (extremely paraphrased to avoid quoting the PM) “Send in two targets next Night or I WILL CUT YOU!”

As for me potentially being a protector, as I recall on D2 two or three people reported feelings of safe / health / warm glow. On D3 only two have reported that. We’re short _at least_ one possible protection. So there exists uncertainty as to whether I’m a protector. I’m strongly considering targeting someone Tonight who will report results Tomorrow without being prompted. At this point, I can choose from quite a few loudmouths. I’m sure everybody will understand that I won’t say who I pick.

> [@Askthepizzaguy](#):
>
> What I want is the town “WATCHER” role to WATCH me every night to see who targets me.

A single Watcher _cannot_ watch you every Night. RTFOP, everybody must change targets every Night.

> [@Askthepizzaguy](#):
>
> I have no idea. But if I were an apothecary and I had no one to heal besides brewha, I’d heal brewha just to make sure that’s what I can do, plus prove that’s what I was doing that night.

This is a good move for a potential Apothecary, regardless of alignment. It would clear up their role.
After about 4PM EDT, I will be gone for the rest of the Day. I’ll be spending the Night preparing for the hurricane; I’ll check in if and when I can.

>
> I don’t get this?
> can you explain the deeper thoughts behind it?
> And how will the watcher now if he’s a watcher, if he has been targeting people who haven’t had NA targeted at them?

Sure.

We’re in a game where everyone has a night action. Where some folks, like a true detective, will get results which mean they know who they are, but it will be quite rare.

A “watcher” role is a role who targets someone and becomes aware of who, if anyone, is also targeting the player they’re targeting that night. Not what action, or what alignment, just the names.

A “watcher” role will be in this game due to how common it is. I CANNOT be protected by a doctor every night, therefore I want to be “watched” as often as possible. It gives me a 50/50 chance of my death revealing my attacker. The watcher will not likely ever have a better shot at catching scum, or, I’ll survive several more rounds. Either outcome is fine with me.

As for why “No doctors” Is several reasons.

1. Asking for doc protection lessens the odds I’ll be murdered. I want the watcher to be not wasting his or her time.

2. I’m not cleared enough to be asking for doc protection. Doc should protect whoever they think is most likely to be attacked, and most valuable out of those.

3. If I am forced to poison every night, and the apothecary may not always be with us, then I am a forced vigilante. As such, I will have to poison someone. I’d rather be enough of a threat with my poison that it attracts murders, thereby ending my poisoning and relieving the townies of worry that they’ll be poisoned next.

4. As I mentioned before, the odds of me hitting scum are much lower than the odds of me hitting townies. As such, absorbing a murder (hopefully with a watcher watching me) is the single best move I can make other than getting very lucky with my poison. Luck only lasts for so long. Being murdered and taking down a scumbag through the “watcher” role is my single best move other than nailing scumbags on consecutive nights, which the odds are very long against,
