Thank you for the link, **Anthracite**. That is precisely the kind of stuff I’m looking for in this thread! And you know, I’ve seen **Lux Fiat’s** sig many a time, and many a time I’ve contemplated its meaning and origin. Of course, it didn’t occur to me to include it here until I visited the link you’ve thoughtfully provided. I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t automatically understand every sig on here! ---

Gee, I don’t suppose it would be possible to close this thread and try again with another one, would it? Sheesh. After reading all that I don’t want to search for interesting or confusing sig lines, I just want to smack some people! I love you guys, but…damn! ---

Oh, well. I still think it’s a cool thread (he said, noticing he’s the only one patting himself on the back). I wonder if I could get **Anthracite** to explain her sig? It’s not that it’s confusing, but I wouldn’t mind knowing where it came from. Of course, I could do a Google search on it, but where’s the fun in that? 🙂 ---

Apparantly, I failed, because some people just won’t or can’t let things go. Ironic, considering their posts. So, I’ll try again. The “Unholy Lesbian Vampire Army of the Night” part originated from a joke in a post I made long ago. It sprang fully-formed from my brow. Then, a few weeks later, **andygirl** had an ULVAN recruitment thread, and I became the Dark Queen. **Fierra** is my Dark Consort, **andygirl** is the Dark Princess\*\*, and **quietgirldownthehall** was her Dark Consort. There were a few more titles thrown about in the lesbian orgy thread, where I posted quite a bit of lesbian erotica I wrote. So I started calling myself the “Grande Dame of Straight Dope Lesbian Erotica”. The third part of my sig is a line from the chorus of the Geri Haliwell (Ginger Spice) song “Bag it Up”, which enjoyed a stay on the UK charts of about 0.00001 seconds. And can someone get Rasa in here? Or whoever it is who is performing Raag Deesh while their omatidia explode or whatever. I scratch my head on that one every time. ---

Someday, when I’m up to the mental challenge, I’ll start a thread about my own sig, which I found in the March 2001 issue of _Nature_ magazine. It just struck me as cool, ya know? Fab and gear, too, in a tubular kind of way. Good call, **Verrain**. Although I did notice **Rasa** explain in another thread about the “this post brought to you by the letter K” part. ---

He also often discusses fruit fly eyeballs (omatidia) in chat, as he’s a mad scientist, so his reply to my compliment is what I quoted in my sig. I call him ween cuz I like to. I just changed my sig again, this time the first part is something I found somewhere on the web that I got a kick out of. The “This post brought to you by the letter K” stays, cuz people seem to like it. ---

Well, I understand that my sig (though it has garnered no attention) is pretty weird. The first part is normal, but then I have a quote “The tint on God’s TV’s not perfect!” **New & Improved Scott** Well, Scott is my boyfriend, and I popped by his house one day when he was playing Populous (where you are a god and control little people) on an old game machine. I couldn’t tell from the piechart or whatever who was winning 'cause it all looked black. I asked him why I couldn’t tell, and then he replied that quote. I thought it was the funniest thing since the platypus, and I was looking for a new sig at the time. ---

Seeing as mine’s in Latin, I figure most folks have no idea. Hell, I didn’t until it was translated for me. It means, approximately, “Don’t let the bastards get you down.” And it was a present to me from Polycarp, as noted…an encouragement , if you will. stoid ---
