# Nails through the nostrils

The other day on TV I saw some crazy individual on some show placing a nail carefully into a nostril, and then gently (ahem) hammering it in. I’ve seen itbefore on some show that also had an X-Ray machine set up, and you could see the nail ALMOST penetrate brain tissue. I’m assuming (uh-oh!) this is a real deal and not an illusion, so if that’s wrong then my questions need not be answered…

1. anyone here ever done this?
2. IS it sore? I mean where does the nail go?
3. why do people do things like this? (nah nevermind, I know)

(you know, the hammering it in I can watch, but the pulling it _out_ … god that’s creepy.
