It depends on how you define “near”… Near, as in the same hospital, Doug Flutie. Near, as in within 25 miles, tons – I grew up 20 miles east of Boston. One site had 7 pages worth, a few I knew about, many I didn’t, such as Barbara Walters, Leonard Nimoy and Dane Cook. Kind of interesting to read.

As for where I currently live (Lethbridge, Alberta), Conrad Bain of “Diff’rent Strokes” was born here; Fay Wray of “King Kong” fame was born in Cardston, which is a town not far away; and Joni Mitchell was born in Fort Macleod, also not far away.
I wonder if anyone famous was born in Los Angeles County, or Southern California in general. 
I was surprised to discover recently that Sojourner Truth was born on a farm not far from here, near Rosendale NY. The only notable person born in the town where I currently reside is The Queen of Mean herself, Leona Helmsley.
I grew up in a small NJ town. I don’t think we had anyone famous there.
Though wikipedia tells me there were 3 people. The only one worth mentioning is Eliot Spitzer’s whore.
