I just did it in my head starting at Maine and zigzag down and back up until I got all 50 in 3:13. I driven through a very large number of them and I think that makes it easier for me. That and I love maps. ---

I learned THAT SONG in 5th grade. Took me about 25 seconds to recite them. It sure comes in handy in my job whenever I need to alphabetize a list of states. ---

I can still say them all in less than two minutes. When I was in 5th grade, the kids who misbehaved had to write the states and capitals as punishment. Well, I didn’t want the “bad” kids to know something that I didn’t, so I memorized the list even though I never had to write it all out. ---

I just timed myself rattling off every state in alphabetical order in 19 seconds. Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming We had to sing [this song](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_HeLofy7IE) in elementary school, and the list is forever burned in my brain. ---

Hey, I just did this earlier today. My friend and I have been doing a 50 states quiz since last year in an effort to improve our scores. I usually get them all in about 2.5 minutes, but I sometimes have a block with Missouri and Indiana. ---
