In Big, Josh Baskin is played by bosh Tom Hanks and David Moscow.
So is anybody familiar with the movie Palindromes? The main character (Aviva- a palindrome of course) is played by a different actress in each scene. I haven’t seen it but was told of it today and thought of this thread.
The Lion King: Simba was voiced by Johnathan Taylor Thomas, and Matthew Broderick. Also pretty much every character that sang had a different singing voice.
Ohhhh. You’re right.
Nevermind. I’ll just go now.
Similarly, The Crow was completed after Brandon Lee died on set.
What the heck are you and Clothahump talking about? I looked all through those credits for A League Of Their Own, and didn’t see a single double-cast character.
Except for Geena Davis and Lori Petty, the elderly versions of the characters were all played by somebody else. I’d heard that they were played by actual baseball players from the women’s league, but I wouldn’t bet the rent on it.
From that IMDB link:
Even Kit and Dottie, apparently.
Except for Geena Davis and Lori Petty, you say?
Thanks for pointing that out. I’d missed the “older” adjective in my first pass through the credits.
Directed by Todd Solondz (Welcome to the Dollhouse, Happiness), I don’t think it’s been released yet (but it will be shortly, presumably on the arthouse circuit, mostly).
Spock was portrayed by six actors in **Star Trek III: The Search for Spock: ** Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelly (who carried Spock’s katra) and the four young actors who portrayed Spock as he grew from childhood to young adulthood.
Buffy Summers was portrayed by both Sarah Michelle Gellar and Eliza Dushku in two episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Similarly, Faith (no last name) was portrayed by both Eliza Dushku and Sarah Michelle Gellar in the same two episodes.
Lugosi died of a heart attack, at the age of 73.
In Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, the nun at the aquarium is played by 2 different actresses. Note how she goes from young, tall, and skinny to old, short, and plump and then back again in one scene.
In Dodgeball Patches O’Houlihan is played by Rip Torn and Hank Azaria.
In Body Double Melanie Griffith plays a porn star who plays the neighbor who is played by Deborah Shelton.
And in Shallow Hal, There is indeed a body double for Gwyneth Paltrow – she’s in the fat scenes where you see her skin but not her face. Can’t pull that off with a body suit. There are a number of other double castings in that movie as well, with all the pretty/ugly people.
Thought of another one: In Fallen, serial killer Edgar Reese comes back to life as a body-possessed spirit who goes on to inhabit the bodies of over a dozen different actors throughout the movie.
