Name and gender change

[QUOTE= it seemed like every other trans man in his 20s was named Caleb, Ethan, or Dylan.

Is that so? That’s interesting. I wonder why the surge in popularity about FTMs? Dylan is androgynous enough to go either way. :smack:

, I think I’d switch to Shaun - which is the only good way to spell that name, IMO. Sean? Shawn? Hell no!
[/QUOTE]

I know just as many girl Seans as I do boy Seans but the girls spell in Seaghn or Shawn or Shaun never Sean which is typically the most masculine version.

I’d go from Cyndi to Cydney so it would be close. I love that name anyway. I think it’s commonly spelled with an “S” but I like the look of Cyd.

I already go by a male variant of my name, so I wouldn’t have to change anything.

I go by a diminutive of my given real name in life and there is a male name with the same diminutive. Even though the two names are not particularly similar. So I’d probably stick to being called the same thing as I’m called now and maybe I’d change my official name to the male name associated with my diminutive.

Phew. That was more complicated to explain than I thought it would be.

What’s wrong with Stephanie?

I have. She was under 3 years old at the time, and is probably a teen now.

Finnish names do not have an opposite gender version as a rule so we are pretty much out of luck on that option. I can’t even think of any female names starting with the same syllable as my name does.
