Was **picmr** , now **hawthorne**.

The [Hawthorne Effect](http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/ASC/Hawtho_effec.html) - named for studies at the Chicago plant of Western Electric between 1924 and 1936 - is a transitory improvement in performance following a change, presumed to work due to an initial presumption of interest and goodwill.

It’s no **Chicken of Bristol** , but there you have it.
