Ok, so I’m working on a school project in which I need to find kinds of ideas an ways to develop them. Can you name some kinds of ideas and maybe if you want to also add a way that helps you develop that kind of ideas?

For example:
1)Ideas for the plot of a book you are writing - (ways to develop) read about some real events
2)Ideas for a painting - go visit some museums
3)Ideas for making a video for youtube - watch other videos and take ideass
and so on…

I heartily recommend the works of Edward De Bono on this topic - in particular, a book called Serious Creativity - he explores what are essentially mechanistic processes for generating ideas and creative solutions to problems.

Or you could try my [invention dice](http://atomicshrimp.com/post/2014/01/20/Invention-Dice).

(I’m not going to list specific ideas, because I think that would violate the homework help rule that is in place on this board).

**Moderator Note**

Welcome to the SDMB, **lothlorientos**.

Please note that we have a “no homework” rule in this forum.

From the General Questions Rules & FAQs sticky at the top of this forum:

> [@](#):
>
> 1. Don’t ask others to do your homework. If you’re a student with a homework assignment and you need help understanding a concept, you’re welcome to post a question about it here. However, do NOT ask others to do work you’re supposed to do yourself, e.g., “Here’s an equation I was assigned for homework. Please solve for X.” To put it another way, our members generally are happy to help you figure out an answer. Don’t expect them to GIVE you the answer.

Let’s all keep this rule in mind as this thread progresses.

Thanks.
