The interweb gods were smiting you for overlooking my post.
Buddy Cole(?). The really ghey dude who opened his own bar.
Since the objective was met in the first 3 posts/minutes and it has morphed into a “my favorite Kids In The Hall sketch” thread, here’s mine:
I speak no English as well as being a Bad Doctor.
I am duty bound, as a KiTH freak, to mention that you’re conflating two different head crusher (aka Mr. Tyzik) sketches.
The head crusher vs. facepincher sketch ends with head crusher triumphant, successfully defeating facepincher and booting him off the sidewalk.
You’re thinking of head crusher vs. a gang of young toughs, one of whom grabs his hand and twists his fingers apart, breaking them. Then Mr. Tyzik ends up in therapy, complete with a regimin of rubber-band “weight training,” hurdle-jumping via a rotating record player, and an ice water bath.
Both are hilarious, though the latter is my favorite too.
I’ve always been fond of the Businessman who followed the little boy home.
“Remember that short order cook you brought home? He had me making toast at three in the morning. I’m still making toast soup!”
“And I *love *your toast soup, Mom! I’m gonna have a big bowl right now!”
I think the one at the strip club was best.
My pen! My pen!
This thread finally got me to chase down one of the old skits I was never able to find in past searches. So, here’s to all of you-- and to Reg.
One of my favorite sketches was the “busy day, lots to do!” guy who gets kidnapped by bank robbers and tries to get them to help him complete his errands.
It seems to me there’s a lot more kith video online now. Maybe 6 months ago or so I was trying to look up the Dinner Party skit and found nothing.
I have read, that if you were to melt people down and sell their component parts, they’d only be worth 87 cents…that’s gotta be a pretty weird store, though.
What was the name of that follow up show Lorne Michaels produced. It was like Kids in the Hall 2, with all new people in it. It was Canadian as well, by the way.
The main skit I remember from that other show was:
A guy is tied up while another guy has a hammer and chisel. He put the chisel/screwdriver up to the guys head, and turns on a record. It play the “pop goes the weasel song” and everytime the record gets to “POP…goes the weasel”, he pulls back to hit the screwdriver into the guys head, but the record keeps skipping there.
Anyone remember this show and skit?
That would have been “The Vacant Lot” which first aired back in '94 or '95. Unfortunately, it only ran for part of a season so I don’t know how successful a search for online episodes would be.
Too bad, too. I thought they were pretty clever.
They really were. I think they were just dismissed as a Kids in the Hall knock-off, but they were pretty funny in their own way.
I always thought Mark McKinney was totaly wasted on Saturday Night Live - his improv talents are incredible!
Oh, I totally agree. He was the best of the five. I loved when he played the Scottish guy. Two sketches that come to mind: Shirling, and buying the Elvis picture.
My favorite was the guy in court because he ate the passengers he shared a plane with
after 20 minutes on the runway.
What a weird thread. I mentioned my favorite sketch, Girl Drink Drunk, and the very next poster comes in to say, hey, don’t overlook this great sketch, Girl Drink Drunk, seemingly having overlooked my post. Later, I quote Gavin, a hilarious quote, even provide a link thingy, and you ask how could Gavin have been missed, when he actually was here.
