Hello, Straightdopers. I’m writing a story for which I need the name of a bowling alley-slash-bar in Merced, California, which existed and which I used to frequent occassionally in 1986. It was a large building, one side had the bowling alley and the other side was a sort of club. Anyone remember that place and its name? Thanks!..AMAPAC

Are you certain it was in Merced proper?

If not, could it be the [Bellevue Bowl](http://bellevuebowl.com/default.asp), up the road a bit in Atwater?

Could be it be Merced Recreational Bowling ?
17 Street in downtown Merced in the middle of the block across from the Merced Theatre.

Edit
Actually, sounds like the Century, as per one of the founders obituary , the 2nd half was a club…
