I understand you’re looking for a place to host your own message board?

If so, have a look at [www.rapidforum.com](http://www.rapidforum.com) which is a web-based message board. It’s ad-financed, and IMO quite fast.

I just haven’t read about the upcoming charge for the SMDB. That’s what it is about, I guess.

The only forum I can think of that _isn’t_ free isSomething Awful. They’re quite successful. They’ve probably had 30,000 total members pay the $10 one-time fee.
