# Name That Parakeet

My brother just got a parakeet and needs a name for it (and if he’s on this board, I just blew my cover).

It’s green and yellow and looks like [this](http://www.crosswinds.net/~shadowkat/bird.html). Anyone care to make any suggestions?

Kricket’s thread help name my bird [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=62399) had some good ideas for parakeet names. 'Course I think “Perry” wouldn’t work for a green and yellow bird. I change my vote to Onan.

I once took a class on history of manuscript painting with a well-respected art historian, and when we were studying Merovingian painting (the guys just before the Carolingians; yes, there’s going to be a point in here, eventually), as he would note some abbot or painter’s amazingly bizarre early-frankish name, he’d suggest, “Oh, so if you ever are looking for a name for a parakeet. . .”  
So my suggestions: Godelgaudus or Gundolhinous. I may be spelling them incorrectly.

Since it’s mostly yellow, how about “Saffron”?
