# Name that Tune!

I have a quasi-remembered song running through my head all morning. Yet I can’t remember who did it, the name of the song, or hardly any of the lyrics.

It’s a ‘grunge-pop’ song, in the vein of the Jesus & Mary Chain with lots of guitar with echo distortion. Very ‘dramatic’ and vaguely gothic. I’d guess it was late 80s vintage.

The only lyrics I can clearly remember are:

“Lying wide awake at night,  
Sleeping in the morning light…”

and

“I’m gonna try to break that spell  
But I know I haven’t got a hope in Hell.”

Any ideas?
