Can anyone identify this [song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwM_8o1zwxA) please. The audio is kind of muffled but the music sounds so familiar. I believe the singer was a contestant on American Idol last year so it’s probably not an original. Maybe a soul number from the 60s or 70s? ---

A Google search says it is likely Rachel Platten, she’s the only one on the lineup for that location/date/event. This is definitely a contemporary song, Platten writes her own music. ---

I can’t name that particular song, but its main riff appears in countless soul and gospel songs of the last 60 years. Maybe the most famous example is [People Get Ready](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l04yM7-BWbg) by the Impressions, but there are a lot of other songs. It’s basically THE soul riff. ---

No, it’s definitely not Rachel Platten. She’s Naima Adedapo a former American Idol contestant. And **EH** , I think you’re right. It could be one of countless soul numbers from over the past 50 years. I was just hoping someone would know the exact song. I’ll do some searching and see if I can find it on Amazon or youtube. It’s no big deal. Just my curiosity jostling my brain.
