Is Mom from Futurama a scientist, or just a businesswoman? She clearly knows much of the science behind what her company makes, but I don’t know if she discovered/invented it, or just had the business vision to hire good scientists for the niche she wished to exploit, and then they in turn explained stuff to her. ---

Simmons from Marvel Agents of Shield Root, from Person of Interest Kat from Gunnerkrigg Court Susan and Mary Test, from Johnny Test Except for Root these are all fairly sane individuals, but they are all doing “mad science” - I mean, Victor Frankenstein is an archetype of mad scientist, and he’s not a crazy person. ---
