A railroad engineer leans on the locomotive’s cowcatcher, holding a long 4x4, which he uses to press down on another plank lying across the tracks; this causes both planks to roll out of the train’s path. 22. A main character in the story plunks a huge supply of quarters into a pay phone–and when his call is over he gestures at the phone and all the quarters come back out! 23. A big, clumsy man knocks a door down–but saunters away with a who-cares gesture. 24. A man with spiky hair appears on the scene, hollering through a bullhorn. 25. A severely damaged piano plays “The Star Spangled Banner” of its own accord and then falls apart. 26. A tatterdemalion plays a clarinet and suddenly falls down into an elevator car when the doors open. 27. An embarrased, naked man in a tree tries to communicate his immediate need to Italian nuns looking up at him. 28. A doctor looks into a just-landed helicopter with great concern. 29. A young fireman pops covers off parts of a syringe, with his thumbs. 30. A gang of marauding cats is herded into an open manhole by the cartoon’s hero. ---
