Ages ago, the term “El Nino” was a worrying harbinger of odd weather patterns. But society has since decided that “The Little Boy” isn’t actually a term to inspire terror, so we’ve moved on to other climate and weather terms that seem more cleverly designed to make the public collectively shit their pants. Snowmageddon. Polar vortex. Now, [bomb cyclone.](http://time.com/5085306/bomb-cyclone-east-coast-weather-cold-winter/) I think we need to come up with a stockpile of terrifying weather and climate phenomena, so that if something bad happens somewhere in the future, we can save some time for newscasters in trying to hype the newest threat to the American way of life.
