# Name this tune and tell me where it's from?

I heard a fairly depressing tune on the radio today. The lyrics went some thing like “I had a dream I was dying and it was the best dream I ever had.” Later there was a part about it being a really bad day. It’s not that new REM song “Bad Day.” In any case the only reason I really care is because I heard the same song recently in either a movie or a t.v. show. Not knowing where I heard the song is driving me a bit nuts. 😕 Any help would be appreciated.

That would appear to be “Mad World,” by Gary Jules

It was originally a hit for Tears For Fears and was recently featured in the film _Donnie Darko_.

Or perhaps the group that wrote it: _Tears for Fears_.

Although Jules’ cover seems to be getting a lot of press.

It was the christmas number one in the UK. Much better than the usual Xmas drivel one normally hears

Thanks everyone, my husband did make me watch Donnie Darko a few weeks ago. That must have been where I heard it.
