A lot of the big celebrities or old money folk have a fine estate with a distinctive name. “The Breakers” or “Biltmore” come to mind. I can’t think of what I’d name my place, so I figure I’d ask all of you what you would name yours. Anything cool and/or funny is acceptable. ---

_FairyChatEstates_, of course. 😃 When my folks bought their place out in the boonies, they lined their driveway with holly trees, and called it Holly Hill. The hollies are all gone now, but it doesn’t matter - we always called it Mom’s place anyway. ---

My screen name comes from my “estate”, Camp P\_\_\_\_\_ (insert my last name there). I figured if the President could have Camp David, I could have Camp P\_\_\_\_\_\_. ---

I always called my place Cloud 8. It’s not cloud 9 but it’s not bad. That, and we are way way high in the mountains. To the point that clouds are often below us. ---

I would name my estate “Mystic Sunrise”. I saw a street named that and like it, so I’m stealing it. Currently, my husband and I refer to our place as the “O.K. Corral” because the street we live on is O\_\_\_\_\_ K\_\_\_\_\_ and our litter of foster puppies is at the “thundering herd” stage. ---

Well, Niggerhead is already taken. [Unbelievably](http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/rick-perry-familys-hunting-camp-still-known-to-many-by-old-racially-charged-name/2011/10/01/gIQAOhY5DL_story.html). Really, I’d like something that suggested haunted decay in a spooky “Hound of the Baskervilles” vibe. Or something Lovecraftian. The [Wormsloe Plantation](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wormsloe_Historic_Site) is a good real-world example. Or spoof it, and live in picturesque Fhtagn Estates. ---

A friend of mine used Avens Rest for the name of an estate in a story she wrote. I always liked it. I think I’ll steal it. Or Arden Reaches. I’ll have to have lots of trees. ---

Not funny or cool. My ‘estate’ already has a name. I purchased my house off the estate of my Grandmother, and it was already named ‘GlenRoss’, which is a smashing together of my mother’s first name and my grandmother’s eldest grandchild (IE my cousin). I’d spent a lot of time in the house, so I kept the name, even bought a snazzy new plaque and attached it near the front door. ---
