Yeah, well … Garry Maddox never autographed anything for me. So there.
Dammit, no more posting while beer buzzing.

(Shrug) Getting an autograph works for me. A player can change a kid’s while month with a smile and an autograph.
I don’t disagree with the aforementioned Laker greats.
But aw crap, help me out, Queen Bruin, who makes the list?
I don’t feel like I have to name the team, but it’s the UCLA Bruin Basketball team.

Sorry to all you other guys who probably should’ve made the list.
A team without a ton of history, but a lot of success:
New Jersey Devils top 10
The top five are obvious, some would have Niedermeyer up at #3.
Gomez and Muller were not in Jersey very long - but they both had very good seven years. Daneyko’s the opposite - 20 years in a Devils uniform, I couldn’t leave him out.
Close - Jamie Langenbrunner, Brian Gionta (one or two more years for both of them will put them past Muller and Gomez), Aaron Broten, Randy McKay, Brian Rafalski. On his way but way too young: Zach Parise.
Heres ugly…

Really kevja? A’s and Giants? Not one or the other? Seems a bit incongruous to me, like being a Yankees and Mets fan or a Cubs and White Sox fan.
Anyways, I like your list for the A’s. The only one I’d switch out would be Campy for the great center fielder Dwayne Murphy. Not because he has better number but because when I was a kid, we would always sit in the center field bleachers (before that monstrosity known as Mt. Davis) when we went to the games and Murph was the best. He’d throw balls into the stands, chat between innings, sign autographs before the game, etc. Just my favorite player growing up. Plus, he had this great afro upon which his hat would precariously sit. Every time he had to run down a fly ball, he hat would fly off and we would all cheer. Great times.
While a Niners fan wouldn’t be caught dead rooting for the Raiders, and vice versa, the relationship between the two Bay Area baseball teams has never really been nasty. In my personal experience, there are many fans in the Yay who support both teams, unlike Sox/Cubs or Yanks/Mets.

When I was in grade school, living in the East Bay the Giants were the only team in the Bay Area and I was a fan. When the A’s came to Oakland i switched loyalty to the A’s when they started winning.
I’ve lived in SF since the early 80s, so while the A’s are number one, I still like the Giants. Except when they play the A’s.
I always liked Dwayne Murphy too. Probably their best CF ever. Great defense. And that afro did rule.
The rivalry between the two may not be as strong as the other two team markets.
Maybe hardcore Giants fans disagree.
The Giants have the ballpark and the A’s have the trophy case.
