I’ve been a Genesis fan all my life. As mentioned in this thread, this is hard to do, not only because of the size of the collection, but also because of the “stages” they went through (with Gabriel, after Gabriel but with Hackett, post-Hackett). Anyway (they say she comes on a pale horse), here are my top 5: 1. Cinema Show / Dancing With the Moonlit Knight (OK, that’s 2, but the songs DO loop around) 2. The Musical Box 3. The Lamia 4. Entangled 5. Home By The Sea / Second Home By The Sea HM: Fountain of Salmacis, The Knife, In The Cage, Carpet Crawlers, Squonk, Dance on a Volcano, Domino 1 & 2, Supper’s Ready ---

I don’t know a lot of Genesis, and maybe I like Collins’s solo stuff more; but I can name a few: 1. Land of Confusion 2. Time Table um… 3. That’s All 4. No Son of Mine 5. Dreaming While You Sleep And really, I could have put three different things from 3-5. A bunch of Peter Gabriel’s solo stuff and Phil Collins’s solo stuff would be higher than most of them. ---

Actually, if it were, “songs by people connected to Genesis,” my list would be something like: 1. Silent Running (Mike + the Mechanics) 2. In the Air Tonight (Phil) 3. Land of Confusion 4. Time Table 5. Take Me Home (Phil) 6. In Your Eyes (Peter) 7. Big Time (Peter) 8. I Wish It Would Rain Down (Phil) 9. Don’t Give Up (Peter w/ Kate Bush) _then_ other stuff by Genesis, including the big pop hits, about a third of _We Can’t Dance_, and “Supper’s Ready.” I am such a 1980’s child. ---
