Just want to mention that I already downloaded the book and am 50 pages in. It’s indeed a fascinating read. I knew that John Lennon was a difficult character, but I never knew what a mean asshole he was in his youth. And I knew their Hamburg days were rough, but not that sleazy as described in the book. It’s a pity that there are no useful live recordings of their Hamburg and Cavern days.

Every album is somebody’s favorite, but Some Girls really started the “Aren’t they dead or retired yet?” refrain that has raged unabated for 40 years.
Interesting. I’ve always found it to be their last great album, and the first good one since Sticky Fingers (the only Mick Taylor era album I liked).
