These days, lots of people probably don’t know what a wing window is.
Dashpots have already been menitoned (my MG has two of them), so how about a “winged knockoff”?
Some older cars (they seemed to be more popular on sports and racing cars) had a single large nut to hold on each wheel. Some had an octagonal head, and instead of a lug wrench the car would have a large wrench like a church key, and a heavy mallet. Put the church key on the large nut and hit it with the mallet to tighten or loosen. That’s the knockoff part.
A slightly fancier version had small protrusions on the nut. When James Bond is driving his Aston Martin in Goldfinger, and the spinner extends out to pop the tires of the car next to him, that’s a winged knockoff.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there are other names for it.
