Mods, if you feel this belongs in IMHO, feel free to move it. I wans’t sure whether to put it in IMHO or MPSIMS, so I chose MPSIMS. (simply because I like this forum the best! 😃 ) I was IM’ing **lel** yesterday evening, and she gave me an idea for a thread. We were talking about names you wish people would call you, and she said that she wished people would call her **L**. It’s not going to screw up any vanity searches she might do, since she can’t do any on her username anyways. (it being only three letters long) I don’t think she said why she wanted people to call her that. She also mentioned that she wanted other Dopers to call me **Flaming Hamster Z**. It sounded like a band name and a drink name, she continued. Versatility is great, I suppose, but **Flaming Hamster Z**?!? I guess since it combines elements of **Flamsterette\_X** amd **Hamster\_X** (her other name for me), it’s all right. I don’t care if you do call me that, by the way, but it sort of seems like an inside joke between **lel** and myself. 😃 She thinks that **Flaming Hamster Z** will screw up my vanity searches… that’s as it may be, but **F\_X** will screw them up even more, since that can’t be searched for. Oh well… _shrugs good-naturedly_ For myself, though… I wish other Dopers (or people in general) would call me (in addition to my username and variants thereof): [ul] [li] **Flami** (it looks better than “Flammy”; I have no objection to “Flam”, though that will screw up the aforementioned vanity searches [and I’ve tried it, too… that’s how I know])[/li][li] **Brolx** (a name I made up for a character in an RPG I was playing once; I think it was _Earthbound!_)[/li][li] **Alena** (a name of a character in _Dragon Warrior IV_, another RPG)[/li][/ul] So what about you? What names do you wish other Dopers (or your friends, or just people in general) would call you? [sub]I can see this becoming an inside-jokey thread… but no worries![/sub] ---

Oh, and I don’t care if you call me **F\_X** … sometimes I call myself that in my emails to various Dopers around here. (you know who you are) There’s no point making a big deal of the fact that it can’t be searched for, after all. It’s just one of the facts of life around here, and I accept it. No problem for me, at any rate. ---

**Duck Duck Goose** , **Flamsterette** _is_ clever… even if I do say so myself. 😃 If I didn’t say so before, the proposed nicknames could be in addition to and/or instead of what people call you now. I don’t care if you call me those nicknames I want for myself, or the variants of **Flamsterette\_X** that seem to be creeping around the boards. Just don’t call me anything inflammatory, and we’ll get along fine, okay? 🙂 ---

I think it would be easy to just type **FlamX**. For me, at least. 😃 LolaBaby is a nickname people gave me. Another is Lala. My real name is Lois. I really don’t care what anyone calls me, I’ve been called it all… Dumb bitch, bitch, c\*nt, asshole, jerk…depending on how pissed off the person is, whoever I flamed or insulted or flicked off. 😛 …and I doubt anyone would do a search on my name anyway. ---

My real name is Mike. Virtually everybody I’ve met in person from the boards calls me “Jack” in casual conversation. It was to the point where if I were walking down the street, I’d turn for somebody calling out, “Hey Jack,” as readily as somebody calling out, “Hey Mike.” But you can call me “Man-Beast, Supreme Ruler with a Twelve Inch Penis.” That’s got a nice ring to it. ---

I am very fond of **erl**. Bak in the days when my name was **ayrandlover** , **Collounsbury** called me **arl** which makes its own sense. After the transition, **el** just didn’t have the same pinache. So **erl** it is, morphed from **arl** but not exactly of the same form. I have always considered it pronounced “Earl”. I am not fond of the name “Earl” but I _am_ fond of “Erl”. That they sound the same is of no consequence. 🙂 ---
