I know Napoleon Dynamite is the latest “cult” movie – I haven’t seen it yet myself – but I wonder who would buy the action figures. McFarlane’s typical metalhead/horror fanbase will most likely ignore these, and I wonder if all the hipsters who embraced this movie were crying out for toys. Of course, I want Ghostbusters, Fight Club, and Pulp Fiction action figures like crazy, so there’s no accounting for what people will buy. ---

I have the \*Great White North \* set he put out a few years ago. Nicely done. I’m sure the _Napoleon Dynamite_ figures will be just as nice. ---

Hot Topic has a line of Napoleon Dynamite merchandise, including t-shirts and fleece blankets. I almost bought a liger t-shirt cause I liked the drawing, but in the end I didn’t like the idea of paying money for it, and I really couldn’t ever picture myself wearing it. So I chuckled and moved on. Then again, I have Mulder and Scully action figures, so who knows what I’ll buy. ---

I’d buy an action figure, tie fishing line to it, and then toss it out the window of a bus and drag it along. That would be freakin’ AWESOME. Gosh. ---

If they have an Uncle Rico figure, I’m gonna send it back in time to 1982 so it can become a professional football player action figure. I’m sure I could sell some Bust Must Plus to Barbie and her clan to raise the dough- that ain’t natural, I tell ya. ---

I don’t think he’ll have any trouble selling them. I used to frequent the [Spawn.com](http://Spawn.com) toys message board, and there are plenty of people buying McFarlane toys who aren’t metalheads/horror fans. In fact, I’d say that they’re only a minority. I think the people who are buying them are just nerds, more broadly speaking, and there are a lot of ND fans in the bunch. Plus, there’s the swag-happy Hot Topic crew. Also, have you seen NECA’s Ghostbusters figures? ---

Apparently Bill Murray is being a jerk about his likeness rights, which toy industry insiders are saying will doom any chances of NECA making these figures. Interestingly, Clive Owen and Benecio Del Toro have refused to lend their likeness rights to NECA to make figures of Dwight and Jackie-Boy, leaving the Sin City toy line forever incomplete. ---
