Napoleon Dynamite, instant cult classic in your peer group?

I haven’t seen it yet, as it hasn’t been released in Europe at all.
But I finally got it somewhere and am going to watch it tonight.
I am really looking forward to it, as the trailer already had me up in stitches.
This is exactly my kind of humour.

Does anybody know any movies with a similar type of humour?

Perhaps Welcome to the Dollhouse. It’s got some weird/hilarious lines.

This is from IMDB.

And if I recall correctly, Lolita makes her go into the stall and then tells her, “I want to see you shit.”

“Dollhouse” is a much more “nerds picked on” movie than Nappy D but it’s pretty funny.

I did see Welcome to the Dollhouse and absolutely hated it.
That was the most gut-wrenching, nasty piece of cinema I have ever seen.
I didn’t get the feeling that it was a comedy at all.
And I really wanted to kill that kid who tried to screw the poor girl.
It was probably my fault, but I really couldn’t find anything funny in that movie.

Napoleon Dynamite is a much more benign movie than Welcome to the Dollhouse. Very rarely do you feel sorry for Napoleon. He’s not popluar, and gets picked on, but he often gives as good as he gets (in a very dorky, Napoleon-like way, of course). Plus it’s got a more or less happy ending.

I guess they can’t do 'em all, but they left out some classics! Especially from Kip the cage fighter.

Your mom goes to college!

Well, then, don’t see “Happiness”.

Todd Solondz makes provocative films.

There’s humor in them, but it’s couched inside very dark movies.
