I just wanted to chime in and say that this thread is fantastic and I really appreciate the informative links provided. This is one of the reasons I love the SDMB. The Tacoma Narrows bridge collapse has always been a passing interest of mine, but I’ve never seen the full-length clips before. ---

Great thread. I saw a brief color clip of the footage in high school and was mesmerized. One of the great engineering blunders of all time. Too bad about Tubby, though. ---
