Hey Coldie, Can I ask a stupid question? If marijuana is legal where you are, how is it sold? Like in the US? I am not being a smart-ass, I really am curious. Is it sold in stores anywhere? By people on the street? In what quantities? How does that whole thing work? Zette ---

In The Netherlands, marihuana can be purchases legally in Coffee Shops like [The Bulldog](http://www.bulldog.nl/), Zette. And skip the coffee, it’s piss poor usually. 😉 ---

origato, there’s no point in using the ‘other stuff that’s worse for you than pot is legal’ argument to prove your point. i read through some past ‘why is pot illegal’ type threads, and the overwhelming evidence is that the answer is ‘ignorance’. it’s not some health issue. i think my parent’s generation (born between 1930’s and 1940’s) is probably the last substantial voting group that doesn’t know anything and doesn’t care to learn anything about marijuana. once they cycle through, i really think marijuana prohibition will be repealed without a lot of fuss. ---

The problem with eliminating the “most dangerous” sport, or eliminating the “worst” anything just because it’s the “worst” by the numbers is that something else is left behind as the worst, and then can fall victim to good mongers. NASCAR drivers are not forced into driving, and while adreneline might be considered adictive, it’s not a controlled substance like marijuana. Many sports extract terrible tolls on their participants. While terrible injuries are not death, they hardly make anyone feel better. Boxers (some die), football players, hockey players, etc face injuries so terrible from their careers, many can’t even enjoy a painless retirement. I know several football (U.S.) players who looked forward to golfing after their careers only to be crippled by arthritis. But we need careers and recreation. It’s a human need…proven by our human history. What career gets the axe next? How many people die from stress related illnesses and heart attacks as a result from sitting on their asses at a corporate job, or die or suffer miserable lives because their work is terribly stressful. I know people who lay tile, or work with wrought iron, and I assure you, their lives are shortened or worsened significantly by their careers. Certainly tile work or wrought iron work is not a necessity. We can do without it, just as we can do without Nascar…or can we? We can’t live in safe bubbles…we can’t. People need recreation of all sorts, and some come with risk. We need careers, and some come with risk. If Nascar was a sweatshop that recruited desperate people to drive so that they could mail money home to their starving families, you might have a case. ---

Doug Henning is dead? Where in the hell have I been? I liked that guy in a goofy hippy freaky kind of way. He was pretty cool. I will leave the flaming in the capable hands of my good friends here. I would also like to add that although, I loved the post I don’t think that tripping up the stair is a bombing offence. Maybe a go out and kick a puppy one? Just a thought. Why should I waste a moment of my time in research to refute a stupid insensitive analogy and an unsupported claim? Mr. Marley died of cancer. This is a well known fact unless you’re one of the knuckleheads that believe he was murdered by the CIA. Was his cancer caused by Marijauna? As an absolute determining factor it is not certain. But smoking anything certainly doesn’t help your lungs and there are many studies underway to determine how much a risk factor Marijauna is for cancer. As for your link, I have grave doubts about the objectivity of any source called Marijuana News. You wouldn’t happen to think they have an agenda would you?
