National Referrenda - good idea or bad?

As a native Californian-- well, it would make things more interesting. Every rich person with a pet project could get something on the ballot, and then we’d see the counter referendum. And maybe a couple of piggyback referendums that kind of do the same thing or look like they do the same thing but do the opposite. ANd then they will all get confusing and misleading names. Eventually you are voting on 50 different things, most of which you know nothing about, with all of the material provided designed to trick you into voting for a “save the puppies” bill that is actually about handing school taxes to oil companies or something. Added to this is months and months of advertising.

Yeah, let’s not do this.

Yes, I agree, let’s have national referenda.
