Anyone play [http://www.nationstates.net](http://www.nationstates.net)? It seems really interesting and I’m currently thinking about: 1.) What sort of nation I want to make and 2.) How to make a sort of nation-building game for the StraightDope boards. Edit: OK, I just realized that you can create your own world region. Anyone up to start an exclusively Straight Dope world region and see how it goes? \>:] ---

I played this a few years ago. I had more than one state with various types of governments. Incidentally, has anybody given in to the urge to make things as miserable as possible for your inhabitants? Some of the states I created were done with the specific purpose of seeing what happened when you put an evil, oppressive, and batshit insane government in charge. (I can be a sadistic bastard sometimes.) ---

(I can be a sadistic bastard sometimes.) Well, Airstrip Sixteen is a play off of Airstrip One. So yes, my nation is oppressive and batshit insane. My previous nation, Minassa, was perfect. Both personal liberty and economy were sky high.
