In answer to the OP: No, this is a common urban legend. You see, although the FAA does use a so-called “Chicken Gun” to test their aircraft, the chickens aren’t the kind you buy in the grocery store. No, they are fresh birds, feathers and all…and as crazy as the French are, they’ve never fired a frozen one through a 747’s hull.

I think that you have completely misunderstood the OP.

‘Chicken Run’ dates from the 1950’s and is defined as \* a teenage virility ritual involving the driving of two cars at high speed towards each other, or towards a dangerous obstacle; the first one to turn aside, or brake, is ‘chicken’.\*
