With the Golden State Warriors on Thursday having won their fourth NBA championship in the past eight years, it’s time to close the books on the 2021-22 NBA season and look ahead to the draft and free agency. The Portland Trail Blazers acquired Jerami Grant from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for a protected 2025 first-round draft pick and other draft assets. > **[Sources: Blazers get Grant from Pistons for pick](https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34132481/detroit-pistons-trading-forward-jerami-grant-portland-trail-blazers-2025-1st-round-pick-sources-say)** > > The Trail Blazers are acquiring Pistons forward Jerami Grant for a protected 2025 1st-round pick and additional draft assets, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Here’s the current first-round order for today’s NBA Draft: 1. Orlando 2. Oklahoma City 3. Houston 4. Sacramento 5. Detroit 6. Indiana 7. Portland 8. New Orleans (from Los Angeles Lakers) 9. San Antonio 10. Washington 11. New York 12. Oklahoma City (from LA Clippers) 13. Charlotte 14. Cleveland 15. Charlotte (from New Orleans) 16. Atlanta 17. Houston (from Brooklyn) 18. Chicago 19. Minnesota 20. San Antonio (from Toronto) 21. Denver 22. Memphis (from Utah) 23. Philadelphia 24. Milwaukee 25. San Antonio (from Boston) 26. Dallas 27. Miami 28. Golden State 29. Memphis 30. Oklahoma City (from Phoenix) My Indiana Pacers will draft 6th, the highest they’ve drafted since they got Rik Smits second overall in 1988. ---

Wizards take Johnny Davis out of Wisconsin. ESPN says he’s the most improved player in college basketball this past season. Sorry, son. Prepare for that progress to hit a brick wall. Hopefully you break through like the Kool-Aid Man, but I have extremely little faith in this team’s coaching and management. ---

Last year, before James Harden was sent to Philadelphia, the Brooklyn Nets’ Big 3 of Durant/Harden/Irving played only 16 games together. And it looks like Kyrie Irving isn’t coming back, either. Teams can execute such deals when free agency opens Thursday night. He has until Wednesday to decide whether to exercise his $36.5 million option on next year. If he does, he’s not eligible for a sign-and-trade. But the Nets could trade him for an expiring contract. Irving could join the Lakers by declining the option and signing with LA for the $6 million taxpayer mid-level exception. ---
