# NBA Playoffs Question

I’m watching the NBA playoff game and have two questions:
1. Are some of the players wearing black tights? If so, why?
2. Watching the half-time show, I noticed a marked swelling on the side of Ernie Johnson’s face. Has he had some health issues?

Tights have become really popular this year, for some reason. The NBA’s considering banning them.

Apparently more than just considering it, it seems like short of signing it into rules it’s a [done deal](http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2391143).
Monumentally stupid in my opinion, just like the draconian NFL rules about uniform code.

1. Yes, they supposedly help increase blood flow to the legs. I believe Kobe Bryant was the first to wear them (Him or Lebron James).
2. He has “follicular” non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He needs chemo after the season.
