Javale McGee conjured up images of Wilt tonight, not James, when McGee drove the lane and rolled in a finger roll layup over James, who could only watch.
Oh please, You could make an hr long video of nothing but LB smaking the ball away from somebody.
Cleveland was outplayed. It was a mismatched game.
It was just one play, and it reminded me (just a little) of moves Wilt made. I’m not comparing the two at all. But Javale McGee’s contributions in the finals were significant. And of course LBJ was great. One could argue he was the series MVP (even though he did not get a single vote).
Good article about how Steve Kerr used bench players throughout the season, getting the entire team ready for the playoff run: Don’t forget about Steve Kerr in this Warriors dynasty, even though he probably wants you to.
That was also after Michael Jordan retired the first time.
That’s the only reason Olajuwon and the Rockets won their championships. No MJ.
And John Starks going 2 for 18 in game 7.
Olajuwon Rockets and the 2004 Pistons are my two favorite “exception that proves the rule” teams from the last 25 years.
Well, maybe. I anticipated that Shaq, Penny, and the Magic would beat the Rockets in '95, but they got swept.
Still salty about it too. Fucking Nick Anderson.
People forget that MJ was back for the playoffs that year, too, albeit with no Grant and no Rodman.
Yeah, but he played only 17 games before the playoffs, and still averaged 31 PPG in 6 games against Orlando.
Hard to say.
The Bulls didn’t push the Knicks of 1992 and 1993 around, and they were even better in 1994, so perhaps they don’t even make the Finals. And even if MJ doesn’t play baseball, perhaps the Bulls get beaten anyway in 1995 by the upstart Orlando Magic.
The 1994 and 1995 Rockets were good teams. Maybe the Bulls win one or even both of those, but those Rockets were competitive against the Bulls, I think.
Yeah, hard to say, for sure. I just see a 2-year gap when the Rockets won while MJ was playing baseball, otherwise it could’ve been 8 straight for him, and he’d be up there with Russell and Cousy.
But yeah, hard to say.
Man, I loved that Pistons team, and I grew up HATING the Pistons. Hamilton with his serial killer facemask, Tayshaun Prince (probably my favorite NBA player ever) and his 20 foot long arms, Wallace with his 'fro swatting shots away…they were fun to watch. And played good defense.
Heh, well, actually, it kinda did.
:o
LeBron to LA. $154m, 4 yrs.
Kawhibaby is still a Spur, so far. Paul George is still a Thunder.
I stand corrected - LeBron left the East. I have my doubts that his new team will be any better than his old one, but the offseason is just beginning.
Why the Lakers? 76ers seemed like a much better landing spot.
