Have these types of amendments EVER failed? Even in Florida which requires 60%, it passed in 2008. ---

A constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage and civil unions failed in Arizona in 2006. However, an amendment banning just marriage (without the part saying that “no legal status for unmarried persons shall be created or recognized by this state or its political subdivisions that is similar to that of marriage”) passed two years later. ---

Well, we have good news. No one is going to have to beat their gay children in NC anymore, because they outlawed being gay. That’s how this works, right? If you outlaw gay marriage, then no one will be gay. Wait, no? So, it’s just hateful and intolerant - it doesn’t change the world to your fucked up viewpoint, it just punishes people going about their lives and not doing anything to you. Damn - that’s fucked up. ---
