Is Stephenson’s new book any good?

A quick bit about me and Stephenson: I really liked both Cryptonomicon and Snow Crash, and can not say I don’t like the Baroque Cycle, since I’ve hardly been able to read any of it yet.

Also, is Anathem the start of a trilogy or is it self-contained?
