Judging just by listening to local opinion, this was not a very popular decision. It followed a bill that lowered the penalties for many offenses in the guise of reducing prison overcrowding, which was also not very popular withe the citizenry. The ramifications of these bills will bring about changes with the next election cycle. ---

So now cops will just have to kill perps during the arrest? j/k I think this is great. Like \*\*Bricker \*\*said, right thing, right reasons. I think there are _other_ right reasons for abolishing capital punishment as well, but this is great. ---
