# Need $50 - $200 \[suggest how I can get it\]

Alright, I’m a grad school student, and I’m in a bit of a money bind this month. I need 50 to 200 dollars to tide me over til next month. 50 would probably get me through, but it wouldn’t be easy; 200 would for sure get me through.
So whatever it is, a small loan site or I’ll fill out as many surveys as it takes (if there are legitimate sites that give out cash for filling out surveys, I’ve never figured it out). I’m absolutely desperate and I need at least 50 by Friday.
Help!

I have this long-running scheme going where I give a company about forty hours of my time every week, and they give me money.
I also have this little side scam going where I write crap and magazine publishers give me money to print it.
I recognize that neither of these are very useful for a fast cash infusion. Have you considered a yard sale?

I don’t think you can pull anything off online at all. You’re going to have to go low tech.

Pawn Stars! Seriously any gold to sell. College or class ring! You could also hit up faculty and staff for part time jobs. Mucking the gutters, racking leaves, killing their spouses - (I hear the going rate is $500 in CA. )

Where are you located? In NYC if you look at the craigslist job postings you will often find that nightclubs will pay pretty girls to go dance there. You can make $30 to dance all night and get a couple of free drinks in the process. I’m sure there are similar kinds of posts in your area. There are other things you can do for money as well on craigslist but sometimes the postings get a little weird. I once found an ad where a guy wanted to pay $50 for busty women to wear low cut tops and go out for coffee with him. I wouldn’t have done it\* but I can imagine worse ways to make a quick $50.
\*Okay, maybe I would have if I had been really super broke or something but I wasn’t in a position where I needed the money _that_ badly.

When I was in the op’s situation I would sell plasma. I would also sell whole blood to a research facility. And I would do both on the same day, sometimes getting a bit woozy in the process. Just wear long sleeves and offer the unused arm at the second draining.
I also would act as a normal control for various clinical studies in the Universities’ Medical School.

When I was in college, the financial aid department had a short-term loan program. AS I recall, you could borrow up to $50 and repay it within a month. Maybe your school has something like that.

Ah, I think it’s pretty clear the op IS in fact asking us for a handout but under the ruse of “ideas” on how to raise the money. Betcha they have a paypal acct all lined up and ready to go along with the usual cock and bull story about paying you back.

If I were in your situation, I would put an ad on Craigslist offering to clean houses or do household chores for a reasonable rate.
