# Need a good wand/hand scanner

I’m looking for a good wand/hand scanner. I’ve seen good things from the VuPoint scanners but can’t seem to find any good information on the paper size they will scan.

I’m looking for something that will do legal sized paper without having to stitch things together. I have older ledger books that I want to scan in and many of them are larger then 8.5x11. I’d like something that can do PDFs and JPG formats if possible.

Anyone have experience with hand scanners? I was told that QVC a couple of years ago sold one that was supposed to work really well, but the person that told me couldn’t remember the maker and he had given it away as a present.

I haven’t seen a hand scanner for sale in over twenty years! You’ll probably have more luck finding a large format, flatbed one (though it won’t be cheap)…

Amazon has [wand scanners.](http://www.amazon.com/VuPoint-PDS-ST470PU-VP-Compact-Portable-Scanner/dp/B00GH9N118/ref=dp_ob_title_ce) About $60? There are lotsa reviews and questions answered. i believe someone commented that the scanner would handle a paper length over 24".

I’ve no personal experience with wand scanners. I frequently see listings for them on Craigslist.
