# Need a little help with nomenclature

Halfway through your first post, I thought “What does it matter what the scientific name is? The first scientist to discover/figure out the species will have a nickname for them, and it’ll stick.”

So they’re “Homo Mythos” or “Homo Elvish”, but you could have some of them get impatient with that:

_Elven-looking character: “We HAVE an actual Latin name…”_  
Ordinary guy: “Well, yeah, but everyone calls you Homo Mythos.”  
_Elven-looking character: “But then people expect us to be like elves, all noble and righteous.”_  
Ordinary guy: “Hey, noble ain’t that bad… better than Homo Trollus.”  
_Elven-looking character: “Sigh, why do I even try?”_

maybe the genetic manipulations for the elfin subspecies was based on the genes of [Williams Syndrome.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Williams_syndrome)
